Zimarty Launches New 3D Printed Jewellery Impressed by the Hilbert Curve

During the height of the pandemic, Zimarty released a fashionable face mask that was inspired by origami design principles and became one of the most popular items we sell in the Design Milk Shop. The Los Angeles-based design studio hasn’t forgotten its roots in 3D printed jewelry as it has just launched a new, four-piece collection. The Zimarty Loop collection consists of a necklace, a bracelet, a ring and earrings, each with a three-dimensionally interwoven shape.

When designing the collection, they found inspiration in the Hilbert curve, a continuous, room-filling curve that the German mathematician David Hilbert discovered in 1891. Zimarty first studied the curve and, after developing several versions, transformed the simple two-dimensional pattern into a complex, three-dimensional structure to adorn the body like wearable architecture.

The loop necklace is fully 3D printed from a strong but flexible nylon-based polymer that is comfortable to wear. The loop bracelet, loop ring and loop earrings are completely 3D printed from black rhodium-plated brass with a smooth, shiny surface.
