Dutch designer Wijnant municipality (whose experimental work we have already shared) has created a new series of objects from a very common household material. Titled CHUNK, the series consists of mirrors and candle holders that have been formed by hand from tinfoil. Wijnant believes that both technology and material lead him to the final shape, which is why aluminum foil is surprisingly an ideal material for work. Folding the aluminum foil by hand gives each object its own weight and structure, in addition to a unique glossy texture achieved by this technique.
