Fancy a shag … carpet? We were definitely interested in the collection of digitally printed floor mats from textile designer Trish Andersen, each of which offers a colorful reinterpretation of her intricate hand-tufted yarn artworks into affordable and washable designs for everyday indoor and outdoor use.
While Andersen’s textile art consists of intricate compositions of colors, shapes, and textures made from yarn, each designed to adorn walls, she has used digital printing to offer the same aesthetic with more permanent intent and at a relatively affordable price.
The digitally printed polyester flooring comes in three sizes – Large (46 “x 66”), Runner (25 “x 60”), and Small (23 “x 36”) – and cost between $ 78 and $ 188 non-slip rubber that can be easily washed or swept without damage, making it suitable for spaces such as the kitchen, bathroom, stairs and even outdoors.
Andersen’s Instagram feed contains numerous photos that document how the owners have integrated their colorful designs into their own four walls, and which encourage people to bring color and texture into the whole house with unapologetic self-confidence.
