Developed for electric car upstarts Lynk & Co In collaboration with New Order Architects, the brand’s first retail presence in Belgium lands as the third club in Europe to showcase the brand’s 01 plug-in hybrid and show how the automotive retail experience can quickly evolve from a stressful environment to a much more leisurely one and design oriented.
Lynk & Co’s Antwerp Club is located in the heart of the fashion district in a historic, tiled former fire hall and was designed by New Order Architects with the history of the space in mind while keeping the Lynk & Co personality shopping with a soft hand, rather than the hard selling normally associated with the car buying experience. Details inside, such as a “hanging garden” with swings to relax in, a shop with designer objects representing local talent, and a café with lounge area mark the attempt by Lynk & Co to adapt to the expectations of the younger generation.
Much of the historic building was preserved and the renovation was mainly made with natural building materials and a small amount of recycled plastic. Even the presentation platforms are handmade from recycled newsprint.
Each club is an opportunity to get in touch with our members on their terms and share the experience of Lynk & Co. As our first location in Belgium, The Antwerp Club is an exciting milestone for the company … and of course this club is something very special for me, as I was born and raised in Antwerp.
– Alain Visser, CEO of Lynk & Co.
Unfortunately for us potential car buyers in the States, while Lynk & Co’s Antwerp Club opened at Drukkerijstraat 18-20 on August 14th, there are currently no plans for the brand to introduce this exciting car dealership anytime soon. We can only hope that the competition will notice and follow suit.
