Much has been written about the return of the kitchen as the stove of the home, and confirmation of the continuing trend is the increasing attention to design and decor in the design of kitchen appliances. The Furniture Concept Appliances collection from LG builds on the dynamic of breaking away from the tired cliché of all stainless steel surfaces with a colorful palette that offers the possibility of customization
Lyu Jae-cheol from LG, President of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company, describes the furniture concept devices as a “stylish fusion of furniture and high-performance household solutions”. In fact, the colors shown in the preview are more reminiscent of offerings from Scandinavian home and furnishings brands such as Marimekko and HAY than the solid industrial options traditionally associated with kitchen-living room design.
The collection includes the InstaView door-in-door refrigerator, the pair of refrigerator and freezer, the microwave, the dishwasher, the water conditioner, WashTower and Styler as well as various material and color combinations with which buyers can harmonize the kitchen with other living spaces.
LG hasn’t released pricing and availability yet, but we expect more information to be released in the days after CES.
As this year’s CES is being held virtually, LG’s virtual booth at CES invites participants to preview the LG Furniture Concept Appliances in a virtual living room.
