Arcadia, Volumia, Elisias and Triples. These are the names of the four carpets that make up the capsule collection by MM Company for Matteo Pala – “Prospettive fantastiche” or Fantastic Perspectives. Each composition was inspired by sketches an architect made during a phone call (note this in the photos below). Perspective projections were created that can be viewed from any angle by the viewer.
The Prospettive fantastiche collection is refined yet light-hearted and emphasizes the vanishing points and the feeling of depth through the use of different stacking heights. The closer to the center, the shorter the stack will be. The colors chosen by MM Company add to the classy, fun atmosphere of the collections through the use of a muted palette with a touch of color. Each rug was designed in the MM Company’s Milan office and goes on a journey. First hand-knotted by Indian artisans using old techniques and New Zealand wool and silk, then on to Matteo Pala’s showroom in Venice.
