Home for the Arts is a minimalist house in Amsterdam, Netherlands designed by i29 interior designers. The building is located in a former industrial area and offers residents the freedom to help design their own interiors.
The open loft was not limited to a preprogrammed layout, allowing the designers to create a completely custom interior for the clients – a couple of writers and art collectors. The focus of the project is on the way the artwork is displayed and it became the starting point of the project.
The designers created bespoke cabinets with individually integrated glass showcases to display the works of art. The double space enabled a loft with two bedrooms, an office and a bathroom. As described by i29, “the high-rise buildings visually connect the two floors and have an integrated staircase.”
