Garden furniture is becoming increasingly popular this spring, also because so many of us have a newfound love of being outside after last year. The design agency LAYER and the outdoor furniture brand Allermuir have worked together to create and bring out the CROP collection of chairs and stools, which are characterized by their rolling shapes. The CROP collection takes its name from the rolling fields of the British countryside, represented in the chairs and stools by the parallel wires of their shapes. Both brands involved in this collaboration, LAYER and Allermuir, are British and we love this nod to their legacy.
With our first outdoor furniture collection, we focused on capturing the spirit of the great outdoors and the language of nature to encourage outdoor dining, especially in the current global climate. Due to the production methods and materiality, the collection is driven by strong graphic elements with mono-wide lines that wrap around the furniture elements.
– Benjamin Hubert, founder, LAYER
This is the second collaboration between the two brands, but the first garden furniture designed by LAYER and the first metal garden furniture made by Allermuir. An armchair, two dining room chairs with and without armrests and two stools with or without backrests make up the parts of the CROP collection. A steel bar frame with narrow welding wires forms the seats and backrests of each, while the slender cushions soften their graphic lines. You can expect a great interplay of light and shadow with the sun moving across the sky all day.
The CROP collection of outdoor seating is weatherproof in all conditions and can be used in a variety of hospitality, commercial and residential settings. Both the chairs and the stools are available with removable seat cushions for additional comfort.
