If you envision a modern living room, you can thank Paul McCobb for that vision. Known as one of the leading voices in modern American design, McCobb’s portfolio is full of enduring pieces that look like they were designed yesterday. Now, for the first time in half a century, CB2 produces some of its timeless furniture, lighting and outdoor pieces from the 1950s in the Paul McCobb Collection.
McCobb was a pioneer in modern furniture, and his pieces are as influential today as they were when they graced the first set of The Today Show or the Columbia Records offices in the 1960s. This collection reflects our ongoing commitment to curate and deliver authentic, timeless design. We are proud to bring back this piece of modern heritage.

The CB2 x Paul McCobb collection was curated and developed in close collaboration with FORM Portfolios, whose mission is to preserve, protect and celebrate designers through the authentic translation of cult works. It comprises 36 products. The Pavillion Collection (outdoors), the Exposior Collection (lighting) and the Connoisseur Collection (bedroom) re-introduce its desirable yet achievable designs that fit into the aesthetics of almost any home.
The outdoor Pavilion Collection features simple shapes and materials, just a few of the reasons Paul McCobb was featured in design magazines back then and museums today. These classic pieces have been updated with features like Sunbrella fabric. The Exposior collection was McCobb’s second lighting series, and each major component is a unique design that is unique to its category. And in the Connoisseur Collection, slim lines, fine veneers and architectural influences are eye-catchers to this day. Excitingly, more pieces and categories will be featured in future collections.
Paul McCobb is the first of several iconic designers that CB2 will partner with over the next two years to bring modern objects that endure back to the market.
