A Former Aarhus Public Library Is Transformed into a Luxury Design Hostel
The first Brøchner Hotels hotel outside of Copenhagen is actually not a hotel, nor is it a typical hostel. The brand creates a hybrid hospitality concept that sits right in the middle. The new BOOK1 Design Hostel in Aarhus has all the classic hostel elements such as bunk beds, laundry and table tennis tables, but also luxurious hotel elements such as private rooms and suites, a sauna and unique design details. BOOK1 is perfect for the modern traveler who is looking for extraordinary experiences in the hotel and catering industry without sacrificing their budget.
BOOK1 is located in the city’s former main library from 1934, and the design hostel has retained the original architecture. Inside, guests can choose between “Pod Dorms”, which are inspired by the luxurious capsule hotels in Japan, or private rooms that have a seating area separate from the sleeping area.
The food court is run by MIB, a local food business operator, and offers a mix of food concepts to delight the traveling foodie, such as: B. Nordic pizza, Danish smørrebrød and baked goods. In addition, the hostel’s “GO LOCAL” concept offers special delicacies and local offers from shops, cafes and restaurants in Aarhus.
The lobby bar offers plus-size drinks and a daily bottoms up happy hour – a great hangout for drinks, coffee and casual get-togethers.
