based in London Fred Rigby and his studio of the same name co-released their debut furniture capsule The everyday collection. Functional, comfortable and playful, the versatile pieces use oak, wool and steel to bring beautiful craftsmanship to life. The UK-made collection was inspired by the rolling landscapes of Dorset where Rigby grew up, with organic shapes and earthy tones that create a feeling of softness.
In the past year we have all gained a greater appreciation and connection with nature. I wanted The Everyday Collection to capture this and truly celebrate it by softening the boundaries between indoors and outdoors – bringing nature into the home and creating objects that reflect the loving landscapes we care about – and at the same time be kind to them are.

Rigby was also very careful with the environment, using well-thought-out production processes, local suppliers and manufacturers, and locally sourced materials. Every piece in the Everyday Collection is made to order, then finished and assembled right in the studio. Divided into three series – Cove, Tide and Raindrop – Rigby undertakes to plant a tree for every order placed.
The Cove Modular Series seems like the kind of furniture you can lounge in for hours. Create any number of sofa combinations of varying lengths, with or without armrests, and opt for the Cove ottoman to build a chaise longue. The solid oak frame is solid and holds cushions made of feathers and foam, which are covered with easy-care boucle wool.
The round, playful shapes of the Tide dining table and the Timber Chairs with their long legs made of solid oak are reminiscent of a tree family in the forest. Each is rotated by hand to create a support that seems to grow from the bottom up. Simple and sturdy, everything is made with natural oil to withstand daily use.
Perhaps the most interesting are the raindrop tables. They can be nested as a group or used separately and are reminiscent of raindrops in a pool of water. With variations in width and height, the six series is ideal for living, working or other commercial spaces. The FSC-certified solid oak is provided with natural oil for a long service life.
