With travel restrictions slowly being lifted, I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of time researching travel, especially to Italy. Probably because it feels like the opposite of what quarantine was. Take me with you to the Amalfi Coast, Venice, Capri, Rome, Tuscany … you will understand! Speaking of Tuscany, this dreamlike house in the middle of the Chianti region landed on my radar and will now live in my brain forever. Casa Morelli lives on a hill with breathtaking views, a charming stone facade and a modern interior with bespoke furniture. A spacious terrace with pool invites you to relax, drink wine, eat and enjoy a view of the vineyards, olive groves and forests around the property. Instead of just dreaming Morelli house can be rented here through Welcome Beyond. So book a flight to Florence or Pisa, rent a car and call this place home (temporarily).
Unlike most Tuscan farmhouses, Casa Morelli has large windows and sliding glass doors that open to blend the inside with the outside. Part of the structure dates back to the 16th century, while the open plan plan and study have been added more recently.
The floors, bathrooms and kitchen are made of a darkened grotto brick, which is a perfect balance between rustic and modern. A sloping fireplace complements the floor, which extends to the ceiling, which is clad with old, sandblasted chestnut beams. Despite the darker color palette in the interior, the natural light that falls in keeps it illuminating.
The built-in kitchen counter with hob is made from the same bricks that are used on the floors.
The newly added study doubles as an additional bedroom with its own bathroom.
The round bathtub was custom-made and milled from solid Tuscan travertine blocks.
As if the house doesn’t offer enough, take a look at the sunset!
