Blue Bottle Coffee Hong Kong Central is a minimalist cafe area in Hong Kong designed by Schemata Architects. While Blue Bottle specifically adapts the local culture to each of their newest locations, their primary role is to maintain an equal relationship between customers and employees.
This expression is especially interesting in a cityscape like Hong Kong, which is filled with narrow streets behind luxurious high-rise buildings. One such detail was the use of large tile floors to quickly clean and dry dirty floors.
The architects decided to use custom made wet tiles in Tajimi City, one of the world’s leading tile manufacturers. Since the rest of the building was constructed of concrete, the architects requested that the tiles be made in a concrete-like texture and color to ensure consistency.
